HIGHAM CRICKET CLUB take the issue of child welfare/protection very seriously. Displayed on this page are the details of our two child welfare officers and the names of the club members who have completed the Child Protection Workshop.

Policy Statement
HIGHAM CRICKET CLUB has a duty of care to safeguard all children involved with the club from harm. All children have a right to protection, and the needs of disabled children and others who may be particularly vulnerable must be taken into account. Higham Cricket Club will ensure the safety and protection of all children involved with the club through adherence to the child protection guidelines adopted by Higham Cricket Club. 

Policy Aims
The aim of the Higham Cricket Club child protection policy is to promote good practice:
  • Providing children and young people with appropriate safety and protection whilst in the care of Higham Cricket Club

Allow all volunteers to make informed and confident reponses to specific child protection issues.

Junior coaches Dan Bamforth, Paul Broadhead, Luke Woodhouse and Paul Wroe have all completed the ECB level 1 coaching course which includes a basic 1st aid course and a child protection workshop, all four have also completed a Criminal Record Bureau (CRB) check.
Child Welfare Officers Ian Lake and Jez Wroe have completed the child protection workshop and the CRB check.
